Feed The Children, founded in 1979 and headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is a non-profit relief organization whose stated vision is "Create a world where no child goes to bed hungry.".
Feed the Children has grown into one of the largest U.S.-based charities. They collaborate with partners, donors, and communities to make the biggest improvements possible and hold themselves accountable at every step. They are accredited by the BBB Wise Giving Alliance and have a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.
By banding together and challenging convention, they are working to defeat hunger both in the United States and around the world.
In fiscal year 2013, their partnerships enabled us to give $215 million in food, essentials, and disaster relief to over 10 million individuals in the U.S. Because school is the best way to help kids escape poverty, they help them attend and finish school by distributing backpacks to homeless children and offering free books and supplies to educators through their Teacher Stores.
Around the world, Feed the Children provides nourishing meals every school day to more than 350,000 children. In fiscal year 2013, the organization distributed over $129 million in food, medicine, and other essentials to children in 18 countries. Via child sponsorship, school sponsorship, and other projects, they help kids be kids by feeding them today and addressing the root causes of poverty so they won’t go hungry tomorrow.
