FLAG International LLC (FI) is a consulting company based in Annapolis, MD, USA that provides technical and management consulting services. FLAG has local subsidiaries in Afghanistan, Mali, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
FI offers its services worldwide to SMEs, firms and business associations looking for outside technical, managerial, or financial support. FI also works with investors looking for good investment opportunities in small or emerging markets. In addition, we have also provided services to local and central government authorities, banks and financial institutions, investment and privatization funds and economic development agencies.


Since its founding in 2000, FI has engaged in consulting activities in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Mali, Montenegro, Mozambique, Serbia, Tajikistan and the United States, and has conducted bank training in Vietnam, Afghanistan and China. FI provides these services to numerous private sector organizations as well as agencies such as the US Agency for International Development (USAID), an arm of the US State Department responsible for designing and funding US-funded economic development programs.


Typical projects managed by FI, taking place in the above-listed countries, include:
 

    • Providing managerial consulting and support services to businesses in order to increase profitability and/or access to debt or equity financing.
       
    • Identify and develop the capacity of entrepreneurs, trade companies, and food processors to form new businesses, processes, market linkages, and joint ventures with international businesses, particularly in the post-investment stage of operations.
       
    • Conducting feasibility studies and business plans to identify entrepreneurial opportunities and to develop projects eligible for debt or equity financing.
       
    • Supporting established business entities in working with banks and local governments to secure additional finance, access to land, facilities, and services under preferential rates.
       
    • Linking agricultural producers, agribusinesses and cooperatives to sources of financing and markets, generating increased sales and assisting with forward purchase contracts.
