Mission and vision of VDAB

Our mission
We help all Flemish citizens to develop their own careers.

-As a director we create the inspiring network for this.
-As a service provider, we encourage citizens to develop their talents and competences to the full.

It is our mission to ensure, organize and promote job placement, guidance and training in the interest of employers, employees and jobseekers with a view to the lifelong and sustainable integration of jobseekers and employees into the labor market. 
 
In addition, we also check whether jobseekers who are compulsorily registered with the VDAB are available for the labor market. The purpose of this is to achieve sustainable integration into the labor market. This audit task is separate from our mediation, guidance and training tasks. It is carried out by an independent and neutral Inspection Service.
 
Our vision
We prefer career security over job security. We consider career thinking to be of great importance. That is why we contribute to a policy that makes citizens work longer and with more enthusiasm, in particular those who are further removed from the labor market. We do this in collaboration with other relevant organizations and companies. As a result, the transitional labor market will work better and that offers more opportunities for citizens and employers to grow.
 
To give direction to our vision, we put forward three strategic ambitions:
-As a director, we network with partners to innovate in a future-oriented way.
-As an excellent service provider, we use combined channels based on our customer focus.
-As a sustainable organization, we are a 'strong brand for work'.
