A foundation for ideas on development
Created in 2003 on the initiative of Cerdi (University of Auvergne and CNRS), the Foundation for International Development Studies and Research aims to promote understanding of international economic development and the factors that influence it.
It supports research activities using the most modern and relevant instruments of economics for the study of development and tends to strengthen the French-speaking potential in this area.
It seeks to promote the contribution of French and European work to the international debate on major development issues, including the nature of the economic policies of the South and North which are best placed to contribute to development, by increasing the capacity of individuals and equal opportunities between nations.
It wishes to contribute to the improvement of these policies as well as to the information of the companies whose activity is determined according to the world markets and their perspectives.
The activities of Ferdi are motivated and guided by three ambitions:
Within the scope of its activity and the programs it conducts, Ferdi is present in events, either through the initiative and the direct organization - or in partnership - of these events (colloquia, conferences, meetings , seminars ...), either through financial and / or logistical support or through the participation of its members (interventions as keynote speaker or panellist).
