They started Foundry Group in 2007 as true early-stage investors, making Seed and Series A investments to help promising entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground. As their portfolio and network grew, so did the vision of Foundry Group. This led them to raise Foundry Group Select, a fund focused on early-growth stage investments in the existing Foundry Group portfolio. The success of both their early stage investment strategy combined with Foundry Group Select’s early-growth strategy, as well as personal investments they made in over fifty venture funds, led them to institutionalize this strategy and launch FG Next – a hybrid fund of funds and early-growth stage direct investment vehicle.

Regardless of the size of their initial investment, the size and structure of their funds allow them to continue to support their portfolio companies through their entire financing lifecycles. Their fund investments give them insight and access to a large number of venture-backed companies at varying stages.
