The French Red Cross can count on the support of 52,000 volunteers and 17,000 employees present throughout France and the rest of the world. Acting as an auxiliary to the French government in its humanitarian missions, the French Red Cross is fighting at all times to relieve human suffering.
WHAT WE DO
Emergency and First Aid
Present throughout the national territory and acting as an auxiliary to the government, the French Red Cross has significant human and material resources that allow it to be a leading player in the field of emergency and first aid in France.
Social Action
To meet the challenge of growing poverty, the French Red Cross has developed a comprehensive approach to fight the challenges faced by ordinary people striving to better their lives, regardless of their starting point: prevent, identify and protect those in need, welcome and guide them, and help them achieve a goal of rehabilitation and independence.
Health and Autonomy
As the first private institution of medico-social sector and health, the French Red Cross manages nearly 600 programs. It seeks to support people with reduced autonomy or those who are facing temporary difficulties through its homes and health care facilities.
Training
We offer a wide range of training modules in the health and social sectors based on our experience as the first private institution of medico-social sector and health. Many train in risk prevention and first aid at work for which we have widely-recognized expertise in the field. Training institutes of the Red Cross can adapt to career paths of individuals.
International Work
When a country is hit hard by natural disaster or torn by armed conflict, the Red Cross aims to intervene. But beyond responding to emergencies, we conduct numerous programs to improve access to water, food security and the health of vulnerable populations.
