Frequentis AG is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways).

Frequentis AG is the parent company within the Frequentis Group. As such, the Group’s core business functions and activities are concentrated in the Vienna (Austria) headquarters of the company. Corporate strategy is to continue expanding the Group, particularly regarding sales & operations, software & products, and services & solutions. The clear focus here is on control centre solutions: the systems developed by Frequentis are a major part of these all-in-one solutions for safety-critical tasks.

In 2016, Comsoft Solutions were added to the company group and thus a major expansion of the portfolio in the market segment Air Traffic Management has taken place. Based on the complementary product portfolio, Frequentis further developed its position as market leader in the area of Aeronautical Information Management (AIM). Additionally, Frequentis secured its position as market leader in the area of Message Handling Systems (MHS). In connection with MHS products made by Frequentis California, Frequentis can now work the market with a two-product strategy.

With a market share of 30%, Frequentis continues to be world market leader in voice communications for air traffic control.

The Frequentis growth in 2016 shows a significant increase in order intake. With EUR 259.5 million it exceeds that of the previous year by 18%. In terms of operating performance, the company reached EUR 252.2 million, up by 11%. EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) came up to EUR 12.4 million.

The company's international success is reflected in an export rate of more than 95%. The Frequentis success story and the sustainable growth of the Frequentis Group rely on the efforts of over 1,600 dedicated employees (the average number employed in 2016).
