RESEARCH

Democracy and Human Rights Policies

FRIDE has established itself as the leading institute monitoring Eu commitments to support democratic reform and human rights worldwide. We are engaged in a number of projects assessing how European policies in this area can be made more effective.

Europe and the International System

With far-reaching change afoot in the world order, FRIDE is examining across a number of different dimensions the EU’s adaptation to this new international context.

Conflict and Security

For several years, FRIDE has been working on EU conflict resolution policies, examining European strategies in some of the world’s most fragile states.

Development Cooperation

Debates deepen on how to make Europe’s development cooperation more effective. With the EU having signed a number of international principles to this end, and its strategic partnership with Africa under review, our research offers practical ideas for improving the design of development policy.
