Friends of Malawi Association (FOMA)
About

The Friends of Malawi Association was formed in 1969 to foster friendship, goodwill and understanding between the people of the United Kingdom and the people of Malawi.

Through the Charitable Trust Fund, we provide small grants to projects in aid of Malawi. If you have a project and would like to apply for a grant, please see the Grants section.

Many of the members have lived and worked in Malawi and wish to maintain their links with the country and with one another. We are a non-political group.

FOMA has an active membership and holds regular events. Each year we organise a popular Spring Reception and Summer Garden Party. At these events, there are talks on the projects we support, as well as Malawi’s history and current events. It is also a chance to socialise and share food. Our AGM is held in September.

If you have a heart for Malawi, please become a member of our Association. We would love to hear of your experiences and passions of all things Malawian.
