About

The Fruit and Vegetable Research Institute is one of 18 member institutions directly under Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Science (VAAS). FAVRI is specialized in research on fruits, vegetables and ornamentals for production in northern and middle central provinces in Vietnam. The institute’s headquarter is situated in Trau Quy, Gia Lam, Hanoi.

FAVRI was founded as decision 71 NN-TCCB/QĐ on March 3, 1990 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Technology (today known as Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development). 

As the decision of the Prime Minister No. 220/QD-TTg on September 9, 2005, FAVRI has considered one of 10 member institutes of VAAS (Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences).
