Fundacao Dorina Nowill para Cegos (Dorina Nowill for the Blind)
The Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind is a nonprofit, philanthropic organization.
For over 70 years, they have been dedicated to the social inclusion of visually impaired people. One of the ways in which they do this is through the production and free distribution of accessible spoken and digital braille books, directly to the public and also to about 3000 schools, libraries and organizations throughout Brazil.
They also offer free specialized services for visually impaired people and their families in the areas of special education, rehabilitation, low vision clinic and employability.
With great dedication to the cause, over the last seven decades they have produced over 6,000 titles, printed 2 million Braille volumes and over 1,000 titles in this system! More than 2,700 audio works and about 900 other accessible digital titles were also produced. In the low vision clinic, rehabilitation and special education services, there are already more than 17 thousand people attended.
They also offer a range of services such as courses, training and consulting. Finally, more recently, they created the Accessibility Solutions division (formerly DNA Publisher), an area of the Dorina Foundation focused on the production and distribution of books and magazines accessible in Braille, Spoken and Daisy formats, training, lectures, space adaptation and services. web accessibility.
But of course they could not achieve all these achievements alone. They are supported by donations, volunteers, friends and sponsors who believe in the Dorina Nowill Foundation's mission for the Blind and help make our work a benchmark for the social inclusion of blind and low vision people.See more
