Fundacion Madera Verde
Fundacion Madera Verde
About

Background

Madera Verde began its operations on the north coast of Honduras in 1993, as “GreenWood”, a project of the Woodworkers Alliance for Rainforest Protection (recognized as WARP).

In August 2001 WARP officially became GreenWood, a North American non-profit organization and continued to develop projects in Honduras. Thus, in 2004, GreenWood achieved the establishment of the MaderaVerde Foundation as a Honduran entity with a legal entity before the Ministry of the Interior and Justice. Since then, MaderaVerde from Honduras and GreenWood from North America continue to work in partnership executing several projects for the benefit of many communities.
