Fundo Brasileiro para a Biodiversidade (Brazilian Biodiversity Fund)

The Brazilian Biodiversity Fund, Funbio, is a non-profit civil association. It is an innovative financial mechanism created to develop strategies that contribute to the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Brazil. Throughout its 20 years of operation, Funbio acts as strategic partner of the private sector, of different state and federal public agencies and organized civil society. These partnerships enable the social and environmental investments of companies and the reduction and mitigation of their impacts, as well as the fulfillment of their legal obligations. In the public sphere, they aim to consolidate conservation policies and make feasible environmental financing programs.
