What is FA.VELA?

They are the first favela-based enterprise accelerator! A non-profit civil society organization that works with entrepreneurial education. We offer business acceleration programs for favelas and periphery (Ghettos) residents to model sustainable enterprises and take the leadership in local transformation.

Their mission is create opportunities for the human capital, intellectual and economic development supporting income generation and of positive socio- environmental impacts at local level. For fewer business plans and more life plans!

FA.VELA was founded in 2004 in Morro do Papagaio Belo Horizonte (MG- Brazil) by young people which life trajectories was marked by personal and professional experiences in favelas, who had access to higher formal education and strive to share their knowledge with entrepreneurs that keep the local economy alive.
