Fundo de Apoio Social
The Social Support Fund ( FAS ) created on 28 October 1994 under Decree 44/94 of the Council of Ministers, is a government agency, with legal personality and financial and administrative autonomy, in coordination with other combat programs contribute to the promotion of sustainable development and poverty reduction.
FAS focuses its action on community demand, directing its activities to social investment in the areas of education, water and sanitation, health, economic and environmental infrastructures. Its intervention is registered in the eighteen provinces of Angola, through offices provinces and antennas.
The implementation of the FAS has financial support from different sources, including Angola Government appropriations, World Bank credits and donations from the European Union, Norway, Sweden, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Chevron, British Petroleum, Shell, UNDP and USAID.
