About

FXB India Suraksha (FXBIS) is a registered Indian Non profit NGO implementing programs across 15 states in India.

The organization believes in direct grass root action for sustainable change and hence does not operate as a donor agency. Accountable to the people, stakeholders, and governments, FXBIS works in India through a committed team of more than 100 dedicated, multi-disciplinary professionals and committed volunteers. They engage directly with the community and work to increase their knowledge and skills to address and challenge conditions of backwardness in a sustainable manner through advocacy, skilled intervention, action and behaviour change.

They are dedicated to strengthening household hold level economy, community resources and empowerment of women and children using an integrated programme approach - the FXBVillage Model which has been successfully tested in South America, Africa and Asia. The FXBVillage Model and other interventions have been tested against time and claimed to be successful & effective for long term change by various research, donor and academic institutions across the world, over the last 20 years, like the FXB Centre for Health & Human Rights, Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard University, U.S.A.

To achieve their goal, they develop needs-oriented and cross-sectoral approaches based on the involvement of the communities they support. Their programs are pragmatic and cost-efficient and combine the different elements of nutrition, livelihood, health, education and psychosocial care and support.

Their women members are running and managing different types of units like sanitary napkin unit, hand-made paper plants, dry fish making unit, weaving and other local handicrafts. They are now considered pioneers in their community and are acting as social agents to bring change in the lives of other women in the area to lead a healthy and secure lives.

They have worked with the vulnerable children to facilitate them access to quality education, as a result they have almost 1200 children who have been brought back to school and are performing well in schools. They have worked to promote good nutrition habits amongst these children, thus contributing to fight against mal-nutrition and related food insecurity.
