Galway City Partnership is an alliance of local groups and organisations who have come together to tackle the issues of long term unemployment and social exclusion in Galway City.

The Goals of the new programme are as follows:

  • Goal 1: Promote awareness, knowledge and uptake of a wide range of statutory voluntary and community services.
  • Goal 2: Increase access to formal and informal educational, recreational and cultural activities and Resources.
  • Goal 3: Increase in people’s work readiness and employment prospects.
  • Goal 4: Promote engagement with policy, practice, and decision making processes on matters affecting local communities.

They have been established to tackle long term unemployment, disadvantage and to combat social exclusion. In essence, they work with individuals, groups and communities. Their work focuses particularly on a number of target groups and target areas in the city and takes many forms.
