We are the African distributors of Intergraph SG&I and Z/I products.

Digital Aerial Photography & Photogrammetry

GeoSpace is the leading aerial photography operator in Southern Africa. We operate two large format Digital Mapping Cameras (DMC ®’s) from Z/I Imaging® - a subsidiary of Intergraph® Corporation. The DMC represents the latest, most advanced technology in large format digital camera systems.

 

Population & Housing Census Mapping Solutions

GeoSpace has established itself as the market leader in the provision of pre-enumeration mapping solutions for population and housing censuses and sample surveys in Africa. We provide a total solution that combines our knowledge and experience of censuses and surveys with modern GIS/GPS and remote sensing tools. This enables us to provide mapping solutions that are realistic, relevant and cost effective and delivers within the timeframe of the bigger census mapping project.

 

Socio-Demographic Surveys

GeoSpace has developed and successfully implemented innovative fieldwork methods involving GIS, GPS and PDA technology to conduct socio-demographic surveys. This has enabled us to do surveys with an electronic questionnaire that is linked to a GPS coordinate. This improves sample realisation and the overall accuracy and control of a survey.

 

GPS Field Surveys

Our GPS field survey business component was established nearly twenty years ago – right from the time the GPS constellation of satellites was launched. We still have a dedicated fieldwork team that specialises in a wide range of GPS applications. This includes (surveys of) networks such as power lines as well as infrastructure and assets such as buildings.

 

Project Management

GeoSpace has vast experience in the management of censuses, surveys and other large projects. As such we often provide project management services as part of our total solutions. We also do project management of projects not related to the rest of our core business.

 

GIS Consultancy & Training

GeoSpace is the World Bank’s (General Data Dissemination System – GDDS) preferred service provider in GIS and small area statistics. As such we have done technical consultancies and training on GIS in statistical agencies in more than 10 African countries. We have also done consultancies on information systems and GIS in Health and Education. Our professional team of GIS consultants are accredited to PLATO – the South African Council for Professional and Technical Surveyors. Clients include The World Bank, National Statistical Agencies, Health Ministries, Education Ministries and International Development Partners.

 

Intergraph SG&I and Z/I

GeoSpace is an official distributor of Intergraph SG&I and Z/I products in Africa. This includes the range of photogrammetry software as well as the GeoMedia range of GIS software packages. We also provide maintenance and technical support on the above mentioned products. We are also licensed to sell and support the Z/I Digital Mapping Camera. Clients include The National Roads Authority (South Africa), Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (South Africa) and National Statistical Agencies.
