Our four departments offer in close co-operation integrated consulting services to our clients in the fields of: Water Resources & Sanitary Engineering, Health & Social Infrastructure including construction roads and buildings as well as TVET, Environmental & Climate Change as well as Natural Resources & Rural Development including capacity building and institutional development.

Integrated Services implies the unique approach of GITEC-IGIP to involve all sectors relevant for an efficient completion of projects to the benefit of our clients. We are convinced that a sustainable development requires a functioning infrastructure for the production and distribution of goods and a healthy population provided with basic commodities and working opportunities appropriate to the given socio-economic and ecological environment. Those components are reflected in GITEC-IGIP's organisation in four fields of activity.

Worldwide: GITEC-IGIP was successfully active in more than 160 countries since its origins back in 1977. GITEC-IGIP places emphasis on several areas, such as roads, water supply and sanitation, irrigation systems, schools, hospitals and housing programs, social and commercial infrastructure in combination with the conservation and management of natural resources and reforestation, agricultural production conditions as well as health education and technical & vocational education and training.

GITEC-IGIP’s greatest strength is its multidisciplinary capability. The staff of 250 comprises engineers, planners and architects who join forces with agriculturists, health specialists, ecologists, economists, financial analysts, geographers and other specialists associating together on a regular basis. To cope with the challenges of international consulting, GITEC-IGIP maintained long-term relationships with local consultants who have met its high standard of services. The company’s head office is in Cologne. From there assignments are initiated, directed and supported all over the world, while, at present, some 35 branch and project offices handle an increasing volume of work in our clients’ countries.

Services

GITEC-IGIP's adapted Services tuned to the specific local conditions cover all stages of the project cycle – from appraising, investigating and planning over the design and supervision of works through to operation and maintenance, including institutional strengthening and training. Besides the required engineering expertise, the services focus on consultancy and technical assistance to the clients. A further concern is with the development and implementation of accompanying measures to infrastructure projects encompassing community participation, hygiene education and private sector promotion.
