The GSM Association (GSMA) is an association of mobile operators and related companies devoted to supporting the standardising, deployment and promotion of the GSM mobile telephone system. The GSM Association was formed in 1995. It has offices in London, Atlanta, Brussels, Hong Kong and Santiago. The GSMA represents the interests of the world’s mobile operators in the development of this dynamic industry. Spanning more than 220 countries, the GSMA unites nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators, as well as more than 200 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset makers, software companies, equipment providers, Internet companies, and media and entertainment organisations. Our members represent more than 5 billion GSM and 3GSM connections. The association produces the world’s largest mobile event, www.mobileworldcongress.com, attracting each year, over 60,000 key decision makers to the annual congress in the Mobile World Capital Barcelona. GSMA’s development fund is a critical player in utilising mobile in driving societal benefit in the developing world.     Mobile Technology The GSM family of technologies has provided the world with mobile communications since 1991. In over twenty years of development, GSM has been continually enhanced to provide platforms that deliver an increasingly broad range of mobile services as demand grows. Where the industry started with plain voice calls, it now has a powerful platform capable of supporting mobile broadband and multimedia services. GSM is now used in 219 countries and territories serving more than three billion people and providing travellers with access to mobile services wherever they go.   What We Do Spectrum for Mobile Broadband   Public Policy Mobile and Privacy mYouth Mobile Energy Efficiency Tax Roaming Mobile and Health Government Programme Mobile and Environment Mobile NFC   Technical Projects VoLTE PathFinder OneAPI Fraud and Security Spam Reporting Services HD Voice Smarter Applications IP and Interconnectivity Rich Communications   Mobile Identity   Mobile for Development Mobile and Development Intelligence Mobile Money for the Unbanked Green Power for Mobile Community Power from Mobile mWomen mAgri mHealth mLearning Disaster Response Connected Living mAutomotive mEducation mHealth mUtilities Smart Cities Connected Life   Events & Awards Mobile World Congress Global Mobile Awards Mobile Health Summit Mobile Asia Expo NFC & Mobile Money Summit Industry Events
