About

The Haitian Foundation for Recovery and Development (FHRD) was created by Scalabrinian priests and a group of Haitians after the earthquake of 2010. Its primary goal was to relocate Haitians in need of housing. It has built more than 250 homes in the town of Croix-des-Bouquets (12 km north-east of Port au Prince) and especially in the area of Lilavois.

In parallel with the construction of housing, a reality has imposed itself: to go beyond the walls. This is how the FHRD manages, coordinates and animates the life of the villages it has built. Above all, she wants to create real communities of life within these villages, which guarantee their permanence.

Anxious to participate in the economic development of the area, she also created a social and solidarity company in 2016: La Rosée SA
