As one of the biggest and busiest Mind organisations in London, they are reviewing all aspects of the operation in order to ensure that the services reflect the changes in Healthcare Provision nationwide.

Toward service user empowerment
Since the inception over 30 years ago, Hammersmith & Fulham Mind has been committed to Service User empowerment by campaigning for Service User involvement at all levels: from policy formulation and decision-making through to Service design and provision.

They are proud to say that many of the Service User projects they have initiated and managed have been very successful and have been instrumental in influencing the change and development of Mental Health Services in the Borough. A fundamental part of Mind's work is provided through the network of over 140 local Mind associations (LMAs) of which they are one.

Last year, LMAs worked with over 220,000 people running around 1,600 services across England and Wales. Services include supported housing, crisis helplines, drop-in centres, employment and training schemes, counselling and befriending.

Each local Mind association is an independent charity run by local people, for local people. Each is responsible for its own funding and the services it provides, but all are affiliated to Mind. This affiliation ensures that each local organisation meets Mind's quality standards of governance and service delivery, and that they work to further Mind’s mission.
