Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator
Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator
About

Started in 2011, Harambee recruits candidates where existing corporate recruitment networks do not reach, assess their competencies and match them to jobs where they are most likely to succeed. It then delivers high quality work readiness programmes that directly address the risks identified by employers in taking on first-time workers.

In South Africa, employers struggle to find entry-level staff with the behaviours, ability, interest and attitude needed to perform in their specific business. But track record shows that Harambee can successfully supply motivated and valuable employees from a previously untapped talent pool, while improving retention rates and lowering HR and training costs. Its tailor-made bridging programmes ensure new staff have the confidence, skills, and functional behaviour to do more than just a job – they have the potential to build a career.

And for job-seekers, Harambee is a free service that helps young South Africans overcome many of the difficulties they face in finding and keeping their first job. Our assessments and training help them get and keep a real job at a real company. To date, Harambee has placed over 20 000 young people with over 200 of South Africa's top companies from Hollard and Nando's to FNB, Pick n Pay, Discovery Health, Standard Bank, Merchants, Liberty and Amazon.
