On January 10th 1878, Chas P. Hayleys & Co. was founded in Galle to import such luxuries as claret and to export local products, spices, coir yarn and essential oils. Over a century later, Hayleys has grown through overseas expansion, diversified into agriculture, manufacturing and service industries, and won acclaim as a Super-brand and as the Best Corporate Citizen of Sri Lanka on four occasions.
