HessenForst
About

HessenForst is part of the Hessian state administration and thus legally dependent.

The legal form of a "separate part" of the provincial administration emphasizes their economic as well as public interest-oriented objectives for the benefit of the country. As a state-owned company, they are under the authority of the Hessian Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

District councilors and mayors of the independent cities are important cooperation partners with whom they work together in forestry and nature conservation projects.

Their internal structure is based on the task. Criteria according to which they structure and develop their organization are the nationwide responsibility, an efficient way of working and a high level of customer orientation.

Mission

Their mission statement was developed in a joint development process. It reflects their company culture, their way of working and their self-image. They can all be measured against the guiding principles.

Vision

Learning from the forest: constancy. Liveliness. Growth.
This triad stands for HessenForst.
They protect, design and use the things entrusted to them sustainably. By developing their strengths, they develop HessenForst into a successful company.

Guiding Principles

Their responsibility: Services of general interest for man and nature.
They have the responsibility for protection, natural care and environmentally friendly use of the Hessian forest. This obliges them to maintain and increase protective effects, recovery function and possibilities of use. They also monitor and evaluate the risks to the health and survival of the forest. They use their knowledge for forest conservation, policy advice, public relations and environmental education. Because the forest needs a competent lobby!
