Houston Energy, L.P. (HE) is a privately held independent oil and gas company exploring the Offshore Gulf of Mexico, South Louisiana, and Texas Gulf Coast.
The mission of HE is to economically find and develop oil and gas reserves for its partners.
Formed in March of 1988 by Ronald E. Neal and Frank W. Harrison, III, Houston Energy (HE) stresses quality over quantity in oil and gas prospect generation. The single most important goal is to create and assemble quality drilling opportunities based on a thorough integration and refinement of all available data. Complete integration of the geology and geophysics is necessary to help mitigate risk. This is accomplished by acquiring 3D seismic data, reprocessing when necessary, and applying other geophysical techniques such as prestack migration, AVO, velocity correction, depth conversion, and amplitude inversion. The seismic is then interpreted within the proper structural and depositional geologic framework.
Houston Energy's management is technically based with Master's Degrees in Geology. The managers are therefore not only involved in all areas of prospect generation by the staff, but are also prospect generators for the company. Houston Energy believes this insures the highest quality technical prospects.
Other key factors of success are diversity and flexibility. Houston Energy has accomplished this by developing a diversified exploration program concentrating in three separate but distinct producing trends: Offshore Louisiana and Texas, South Louisiana, and Middle Texas Gulf Coast. Within these three trends Houston Energy has the flexibility to play oil or gas, close-in or wildcats, deep or shallow. Because of these factors Houston Energy is able to take advantage of rapidly changing market requirements of the energy industry and maximize return on investment. Houston Energy feels that it is critical to success to remain focused in areas in which HE has a competitive advantage gained from its extensive experience and expertise.
