About

The Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC) is an organization working on human rights causes and aiming to support the creation of a free and equal society based on solidarity. To enact social transformations, EMC creates and supports a solidarity platform, which strives to integrate the different groups, activists, and organizations that are working on emancipatory policy.

This organization aims to reveal the structural causes of social and political inequality as well as oppression in order to conduct critical analysis and change existing policy by using human rights instruments and activist fighting methods.

They believe in freedom, equality, and the solidarity of society, social and economic justice, as well as the idea that the state should act as a guarantor of social justice and welfare. They fight to get inclusive and fair democratic systems based on political participation.

Their organization has four program directions and works on social, equality, justice, democratic, and critical policy issues.

The aim of their Social Policy Program is to promote developing political, economic, and social systems based on social justice, equality, and solidarity.

The aim of their Equality Policy Program is to create fair, equal, and dignified political and social human rights environments for oppressed groups.

The aim of their Justice and Democracy Program is to support forming a judicial system based on human rights, justice, and high social sensitivity.

The aim of their Critical Policy Program is to create policy based on the critical issues through synthesizing the theories and practices on those issues.

The major instruments of their activities are research, advocacy, strategic litigation, and teaching. EMC uses social group participation as well as their mobilization to try to support and incorporate needs, concerns, and demands into the political agenda.

EMC is governed by the board of directors and makes significant decisions collectively with the staff members.
