Indonesian Leprosy and Disability Care Movement (Gerakan Peduli Disabilitas Dan Lepra Indonesia - GPDLI)
About

The Indonesian Movement for Disability and Leprosy was established on December 15, 2009, and after important meetings and activities were held in several places, finally 10 October 2010 was ratified and agreed upon by all the founders and initiators of becoming an association organization and having a far-reaching vision , by looking at the situation of leprosy and other infectious diseases in Indonesia, as well as the consequences of these diseases which often lead to disability or disability.

The emphasis given is to fulfill the essential human rights of colleagues affected by leprosy etc. by involving all elements of civil society in urban and regional areas. Making leprosy and disability issues and issues become more creative, innovative, effective and sustainable thinking and problem solving. And in the end they undergo holistic transformation, including helping to meet the target MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS (MDGs) in 2015 yad, by mainstreaming specific problems regarding poverty and in the context of infectious diseases other than / outside of HIV-AIDS and disability and consequences faced, and developing quality of life that is getting better and even more impactful for family members and the larger community.

It is expected that in the future the impact of the movement will not only become a pseudo and sporadic movement like many that are now happening, it is even expected to become a leader in empowering the wider community. Influencing the level that is widespread and not only in the regions but in large cities such as Jakarta and surrounding areas such as Bogor, Tangerang, Depok and Bekasi and all provinces in Indonesia.
