Created in 2012 in Ouagadougou by a team of international experts specialized in public health, brought by Dr. Jean-Baptiste Guiard-Schmid, the Consulting Firm Initiatives Conseil International – Santé (ICI-Santé) is based on the conviction that it is necessary de develop and strengthen the African Regional Expertise in health, to bring it to the highest level of excellence, at the service of the Continent’s population health.

By the diversity of their expertises and thanks to their long-standing experience of collaboration between them and around common programs, experts mobilized by ICI-Santé are specially skilled to deal with health problematics in the complex environment and endlessly changing, which characterizes developing countries. They are able to propose analyses and multidisciplinary and intersectoral responses, based on their approach and experience diversity.

ICI-Santé provides original and adapted responses, with due care of abiding by the great orientations, strategies and international standards in the respect of diversity, but also international committments of countries in which its experts take action.

This open appaoch of public health is mainly due to the importance given to the realities on the field, which forged ICI-Santé’s experts professional experience. This emphasis on the reality principle in the implementation of the expertise and the technical support also goes along with a renewed interest for the technical and methodological innovation

ICI-Santé actively elaborates and promotes a group of highly and distinguished regular collaborating experts, coming extensively from countries in the African Continent, who are followed up and reinforced in their missions continuously, thanks to the careful backstopping ensured by the technical and coordination team of the Firm, based in Ouagadougou.

In a sustainable development approach in health, ICI-Santé also elaborates original projects and programs in some areas with little or no public health coverage in Africa (Road Safety, Environmental Health, fight against addictions, etc.)

ICI-Santé makes its skills, its energy and its creativity available to various actors and stakeholders of health : Governments, International Organizations, Bilateral Cooperations, United Nations System, Non Governmental and Civil Society Organizations, Private Sector, etc. With more than 7,000 man /days of technical support implemented on the field each year, ICI-Santé is a Leader of the Technical Assistance in health, with a deep experience an knowledge of the African Region (North to South and East to West), mainly in supporting countries on the response to HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria, but also on the health systems strengthening, non-transmissible diseases and training on health.
