Institute for Policy and Community Development Studies (IPCOS) is a Jakarta based Indonesian Non Government Organization. The Institute was established on 13 January 1995 by several young scholars and intellectuals who share a common interest in policy studies, development and the civil society strengthening.
Fueled by highly spirited and hardworking persons who founded, managed and developed the organization, the Institute works together with other local and international organizations to build a democratic and humane society.
WHAT WE DO
We currently focus our work on four programme clusters:
-Local Governance & Public Services
-Institutionalization of Democracy
-Peace & Security
-Special Initiatives
HOW WE DO IT
We conduct research and studies in each cluster to develop new ideas and concepts as well as to contextualize existing concepts. Pushing for structural improvements, we are active in advocating for policy changes where necessary. In an effort to increase the capacity of stakeholders we organize workshops and trainings. We also make most of our publication available free of charge to disseminate our ideas.
WHO WE WORK WITH
Our partners include policy makers, service providers, local and international NGOs, as well as donors. Not aligned to any political party, we also work with politicians across party lines.
