About

The Bolivian Institute for Standardization and Quality (IBNORCA), is a private non-profit association, created by Supreme Decree No. 23489 of April 29, 1993 and founded on May 5, 1993. The definitive competence of its activities confers it Supreme Decree No. 24498 of February 17, 1997, creating the Bolivian Standardization, Metrology, Accreditation and Certification System (SNMAC).

IBNORCA is in charge of two fundamental pillars of quality:

  • Technical Normalization
  • Quality certification

Their commitment is:

  • Promote the development of Bolivian technical standards, with the open participation of all interested parties and collaborate, promoting the Bolivian contribution, in the elaboration of COPANT standards (Pan-American Technical Standards Commission) and international standards.
  • Certify products, services, and companies (systems), conferring to them a competitive differential value, which contributes to favor commercial exchanges and international cooperation.
  • Orient management to the satisfaction of their customers and the active participation of people, with quality criteria and obtain results that ensure competitive development.

In its effort to facilitate the access of socioeconomic agents to the quality infrastructure, IBNORCA offers specialized information and documentation services.

It also has a wide range of training courses, aimed at training professionals to design and implement management systems in the areas of quality and the environment.
