The Institute of Studies for Development and Peace -INDEPAZ was formed in 1984 and since then it maintains training, research, the generation of spaces for dialogue, and ventures into development and peace issues, strengthening organizations of especially ethnic and youth base, and multi-stakeholder dialogues including companies, unions, governments, parties and social organizations. INDEPAZ accompanies initiatives of social, ethnic and youth organizations in the relationship with companies and macroprojects; citizen security; evaluation and monitoring of security plans and territorial consolidation, and impact on public land policies, victims' rights, justice and peace, reinstatement, mining, development and peace.

INDEPAZ is an NGO made up of people who have built collaborative relationships in the permanent activity for peace in Colombia.
