The Honduran Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (IHCIETI) supports the consolidation of the National System of Science and Technology, through activities that promote the harmonization of the government-academy-private sector relationship, the improvement of policies and programs, the development of the capacities and competencies of human capital, the establishment of the necessary infrastructure for the advancement of science and technology, the improvement of the competitiveness of the productive sector and access to regional and global markets. 

The IHCIETI is committed to encouraging interest in education and research, promoting the culture of scientific research and technological development in the country, and supporting applied research to search for optimal solutions to the complex problems facing society.
