About

The National Institute of Electricity and Clean Energies (INEEL) is a Mexican public research center established in Cuernavaca, created in 1975 as the Institute of Electrical Research (IIE), which provides solutions for energy and economic saving, and participates in projects of innovation and technological development, promoting the sustainable development of the industry. INEEL carries out and promotes scientific and technological research; disseminates and implements technologies that adapt to national economic development; is related to similar institutions at international level; teaches courses in science, technology and industrial administration for the electrical sector; provides advice to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and companies related to the electricity industry; proposes applied research and technology programs to the Energy Secretariat (SENER) and the CFE; and patents and licenses developer technologies and the results of their research. Among its products, INEEL offers intelligent meters, simulators to train generation plant operators, on-line or off-line inspection devices for rotating equipment, inspection and monitoring robots, evaluation and diagnostic systems, among others.
