The National Institute of Professional Technical Training (INFOTEP), is the governing body of the National Professional Technical Training System of the Dominican Republic, created by Law 116, of January 16, 1980, and regulated by Regulation 1894, of August 11 of the same year. It is an autonomous organization of the State, invested with legal personality, non-profit and with its own assets, directed by a board of directors with a tripartite structure, made up of the official, business and labor sectors, and administered by a general directorate.

The main functions performed by INFOTEP are:

• Organize and govern the national technical-professional training system that, with the joint effort of the State, workers and employers, focuses on the full development of human resources and the increase in the productivity of companies, in all sectors of economic activity.
• Promote the social promotion of the worker, through his comprehensive training, to make him a responsible citizen, possessor of the moral and cultural values ​​necessary for harmony and national coexistence.
