The National Institute of Land Transit and Transportation (INTRANT) is the national governing body of the mobility, land transportation, transit and road safety system of the Dominican Republic. INTRANT is an institution attached to the Ministry of Public Works and Communications and its creation is ordered in article 7 of Law 63-17: “By means of this law, the National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (INTRANT) is created, as a governing body, national and sectoral, decentralized from the State, with legal personality and administrative, financial and technical autonomy, attached to the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, in charge of complying with and enforcing this law and its regulations ”.
Law 63-17 on Mobility, Land Transportation, Traffic and Road Safety, which gives rise to INTRANT, was approved on February 10, two thousand seventeen (2017). The President of the Republic, Danilo Medina promulgated it on February 21 of that same year.

Manage the national leadership of mobility, land transport, traffic and road safety, in Road Regulation, Planning and Education, coordinating with all competent institutions, and generating in the state, the comprehensive approach necessary for the transformation of the sector, required for the socioeconomic development of the Dominican Republic.
