For more than thirty years, InterEnergy has powered people and cities across the Caribbean and Latin America. They have 2.1 GW of installed, available and in development capacity, providing reliable, cost-effective and clean energy to the Dominican Republic, Panama, Jamaica, Chile and Uruguay.
They are private power pioneers: wherever they invest, they play an important role in the economic and social development of countries, markets and communities.
Our wholly-owned subsidiary, CEPM, has contributed to the fast-growing tourism sector in the Dominican Republic, providing power to 66% of the country’s hotel rooms. They have served the Punta Cana and Bavaro resort areas for the past 30 years, propelling the region to become world-class holiday destinations.
They are the largest and most-efficient independent power generator in Jamaica, responsible for almost 40% of the country’s total base load capacity.
They have also played a prominent role in the development of renewable power across the region. In 2011, they were the first wind operator in the Dominican Republic and in 2014 they built the largest wind farm in the Central American and Caribbean region. They have also made significant investments in solar power in Chile, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
