Intermón Oxfam is a Spain-based charitable foundation and part of Oxfam’s international confederation of NGOs aiming to find solutions to world poverty and injustice. Intermon, estbalished in 1956, joined Oxfam in 1997. In 1956, it commenced operations in Bolivia, India and Chad; it is now active in 48 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East.
As of 2010, Intermón Oxfam has seven offices in Spain and 46 shops selling fairly traded goods. It has 16 offices in other countries and operations in 46 countries. Its primary activities include advocacy, research, capacity building and humanitarian assistance.
What We Do
We drive 94 programs (including 504 projects) throughout the world contributing to improving the lives of vulnerable populations.
Projects in development cooperation
Currently, Oxfam implemented 504 development projects. An important part of them are aimed at ensuring sustainable livelihoods for rural families. In this area, working for producers and farmers with few resources have a decent salary while claiming agricultural and trade policies that were taken into account. Also implements programs to improve access to safe water, sanitation and basic education for the poorest of the poorest countries.
Humanitarian Action
We work on prevention, assistance and reconstruction work and make a complaint and advocacy. Account for donations received for each and every emergency in which we participate.

Fair Trade
We support 113 producer groups in Africa, Latin America and Asia, giving them the tools and technical assistance necessary for them to join the international market.
Advocacy and Social Mobilization
In the area of social mobilization campaigns, Oxfam advocacy develops proposals aimed at local authorities and international human rights.
