International Health Financing Unit (UFIS) (Unidad de Financiamiento Internacional de Salud)

The National State, through the Ministry of Health, implements Public Health Programs and Projects, in some cases, with the financial assistance of the International Credit Organizations. The Ministry of Health determines the fundamental policies on which these programs are designed and developed, reinforcing the role of the State in its functions of health surveillance, strategic planning, funding prioritization, research, regulation, supervision, and monitoring. The International Health Financing Unit (UFI-S) is a specialized entity within the structure of the Ministry of Health of the Nation (MSAL), whose mission is to coordinate the different Programs and Projects financed with loans, credits or external donations and / or within the framework of technical cooperation agreements with international organizations, intervening in the formulation, management, supervision, monitoring and evaluation thereof.
