As part of the exciting changes and to reflect their new vision, in 2020, the organization changed its name from Islamic Relief Waqf to the International Waqf Fund.
The organization continues to operate the charity as usual with its parent organisation, Islamic Relief Worldwide, based in Birmingham.
The funds raised from their generous donors are currently being invested in Sharia-compliant investments. They have raised more than £8 million. In addition, they receive an annual average return of 5-7%. They utilize these returns to implement charity projects across the globe. In 2021, they implemented projects in sectors such as Education, Health, Sustainable Livelihoods, Water, Orphan sponsorships, Qurbani, Ramadan, and Emergency Relief.
