Currently, the Invepar Group comprises 12 public-service concessionaires in the toll road, urban mobility and airport segments. In addition to strict compliance with the Group’s Code of Ethics, as well as the most rigorous national and international technical standards in its areas of activity, all Group companies are committed to the safety and comfort of their users, the quality of the service they provide, and the environmental and social well-being of their surrounding communities.
Invepar companies are present in seven Brazilian states: Bahia, Pernambuco, Distrito Federal, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, in addition to Lima, Peru.
Invepar's history begins in 2000, when the Group was created and took over two important concessions, LAMSA - Linha Amarela S.A., in Rio de Janeiro, and CLN - Concessionária Litoral Norte, in Bahia.
Areas of Operation
Toll Roads
Brazil’s highways are responsible for 60% of the country’s cargo transportation and play a vital role in national logistics. They also have enormous growth potential, especially following the government’s declaration at the beginning of 2012, when it stated its intention of privatizing more than 9,000 kilometers of federal highways. Currently, only 15,000 kilometers of the national network’s 214,000 kilometers of paved roads are managed by the private sector. Of these, around 2,000 kilometers (7%) are operated by the six concessionaires controlled by Invepar: Litoral Norte S.A. (CLN), Auto Raposo Tavares S.A. (CART), Bahia Norte S.A. (CBN), Rio Teresópolis S.A. (CRT), and Rota do Atlântico (CRA), as well as Via 040 ( BR - 040 DF/GO/MG), whose concession was secured by Invepar in December 2013.
Airports
Invepar has managed Guarulhos International Airport, the biggest airport in South America, since the end of 2012 and will continue to do so for a further 20 years. It currently handles more than 30 million passengers per year, a figure that should reach 60 million when all the envisaged investments are concluded. In order to ensure the highest possible management and operating quality standards, Invepar partnered with ACSA – Airport Company South Africa, which already operates some of the most efficient airports in the world, such as those in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Mumbai, India.
Urban Mobility
In this segment, Invepar retains a concession of enormous responsibility, given that it involves the interest of millions of people. This is MetrôRio, which transports 187 million passengers per year and has put Invepar in first position in terms of numbers of passengers carried by Brazilian subway concessions. The Company also manages Metrobarra S.A., which will provide systems and rolling stock for the operation of Line 4, and is part of the VLT Carioca consortium together with CCR, Odebrecht Transport, the French-owned RATP and the Argentinean-owned BRT - Benito Roggio Transporte, which won the bid to build and operate the Light Rail Transit system which will connect the port area of Rio de Janeiro to the city’s financial center and Santos Dumont Airport.
