The relationship between Canada and Ireland is strong, far reaching and deeply rooted in history. Since its foundation in 1993, it has been the objective of the Ireland Canada University Foundation to promote the ongoing development of links between these countries.
This will be done through the awarding of scholarships to individuals whose work fulfills one or more of the following criteria;
The Foundation operates two principal programmes annually. The first is the Dobbin Scholarship Programme which grants awards of short term visiting scholarships to both Irish and Canadian scholars in support of their research which relates to both countries, and the second is the Irish Language Programme which supports the growth and development of the Irish language in Canada.
