Islamic Relief USA is a community of humanitarians–staff, volunteers, affiliates, supporters, partners, donors–who have been working together for a better world for more than 20 years.   In 1993, Islamic Relief USA became an independent (and legally separate) member of a global family of collaborating relief organizations that share a common vision, mission and family identity—connected through the use of the “Islamic Relief” name. Islamic Relief USA operates seven regional offices in the United States: in northern California, southern California, Illinois, Florida, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia, which is its headquarter location. These IRUSA offices have been serving to educate, inform, and raise awareness about our various relief and development projects for years. Additionally, IRUSA holds seminars, banquets, concerts, and other public awareness programs across the country to help fund domestic and international projects.   Mission: Islamic Relief USA provides relief and development in a dignified manner regardless of gender, race, or religion, and works to empower individuals in their communities and give them a voice in the world.   What we do Emergency Response - Since its inception, one of Islamic Relief’s primary goals has been to provide rapid relief for disaster victims. Partnerships in some three dozen countries maximize Islamic Relief’s ability to respond to urgent situations with speed and efficiency, as well as cultural sensitivity. Islamic Relief’s emergency aid efforts often include the distribution of food, water and clothing; the construction of temporary shelters; and the administration of vital medical care..   Education - Islamic Relief makes education a priority among its long-term and development-based efforts. Projects are aimed at both adults and children and include building and equipping schools, offering literacy classes and training teachers. Many of the education projects target impoverished women and young girls, helping them break free from poverty and ensuring stability for generations to come.   Food Aid – Islamic Relief USA’s food aid programs span the gamut in terms of size and reach: from mobilized deliveries in the wake of disasters to Giving Grain food pantries that provide easy access to quality foods.   Livelihood - Through sustainable livelihood projects, Islamic Relief is able to help the individuals acquire the skills they need to develop a reliable means of earning income. We’re helping families get the basics they need to survive—we’re helping communities prosper by boosting the local economy and by creating jobs.   Winterization - And through IRUSA’s #MyWinter, #TheirWinter campaign, donors share their warmth with thousands of people around the world, delivering items like blankets, mattresses, winter clothes and boots, stoves and other heating devices to those who desperately need them.   Aid for Children in Need - For nearly two decades, Islamic Relief USA has been working to improve the lives of children around the world. Areas of focus include emergency relief, orphan support, health and nutrition, water and sanitation.   Zakah – Islamic Relief collects and distributes zakah to those who are most in need, in accordance with Islamic guidelines. Giving your zakah through IRUSA means you can help provide emergency food, shelter for refugees, job training, medication and so much more.   Health - When crisis hits a country, Islamic Relief provides humanitarian aid that often includes emergency health care and distribution of clean water to prevent illness. Our teams often stay to implement long-term development projects, such as rebuilding destroyed water and sanitation facilities, or constructing new facilities for populations lacking them. Projects like these reduce illness rates and save lives.   Water and Sanitation - Islamic Relief water and sanitation projects–both at the emergency and long-term levels–have been providing essential aid for many years.   Women’s Program - Islamic Relief water and sanitation projects–both at the emergency and long-term levels–have been providing essential aid for many years.
