JCAM Secretariat
Continuing the realisation of the mission of the Society of Jesus...
JCAM secretariat is made up of a team of Jesuits and lay collaborators playing an important role in the service of the Church and the Society of Jesus in Africa. The secretariat continues the realisation of the mission of the Society of Jesus through spiritual and intellectual reflection with a deep commitment to faith, social justice, solidarity with the poor, and respect of God’s creation.
Who They Are
The Jesuit Conference of Africa and Madagascar is one of six administrative parts of the universal Society of Jesus around the world.
The Society of Jesus is a religious order within the Roman Catholic Church established in 1540 by St Ignatius of Loyola who, with his first companions, placed the whole Society at the service of the Church and of God’s people.
Making God known in the world
Now in the 21st-century members of that same Society, more commonly called Jesuits, along with many women and men who share their vision, dedicate themselves to continuing the work of making God known in the world.
Reconciliation to All
Bringing reconciliation to all, of caring for those who are in the greatest need, of walking alongside and listening to young people, and of caring for our common home through the protection and renewal of God’s creation.
