The John A. Reisenbach Foundation has worked “For a Better and Safer New York” since 1991. Through grants and strategic partnerships, they address systemic problems like unequal access to education and job training that keep individuals vulnerable and that contribute to poverty and crime. They strive every day to support safety, security, and a high quality of life for all New Yorkers.
The Foundation was created to honor the life of advertising executive John A. Reisenbach, who was the victim of a random murder in Greenwich Village in 1990. John’s friends, family, and colleagues knew that there could be no better tribute to a kind and compassionate man than a foundation that served his community. Since its incorporation in 1991, the Foundation has benefited countless New Yorkers across all five boroughs.
The Foundation is rooted in the advertising and media industries, which helped form the organization and which provide its core funding. In recent years, the reach has expanded to encompass corporate and individual donors from across the city (and beyond!). All of us at the Reisenbach Foundation are deeply thankful to the supporters, and they are delighted that you share the vision for New York City.
