About

Julius Clinical is a science driven research organization that was established in 2008 as a spin-off from the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care at the University Medical Center (UMC) in Utrecht, which is the largest medical centre in the Netherlands. Julius Clinical combines strong scientific leadership and operational excellence to conduct innovative national and global clinical trials.

Julius Clinical is a spin-off of the UMCU Clinical Trial Unit, previously part of the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care. The Julius Center was itself founded in 1996, after the merger of the UMC’s departments of Epidemiology and Public Health with Clinical Epidemiology. Overall, the center contains a wealth of expertise in the disciplines of epidemiology, public health, general practice, biostatistics, and medical technology assessment.

Since its establishment, the Julius Center has been actively involved in the design, conduct, and reporting of groundbreaking phase IIB-IV clinical trials in Europe, in the fields of cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, oncology, genetics, and mental health.

Science is at the heart of what they do. Their aim is to have a major impact on the global practice of medicine and improve the health of all people. They will do this through the excellent management of clinical trials for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device customers.

Through the peer-to-peer network, they have unique access to the leading medical and academic researchers around the world. This network will help ensure that every clinical study reflects current best practice.

They combine the best of both worlds because they are able to combine the latest scientific insights with operational expertise to find creative & cost effective solutions to the many challenges of modern clinical research. They achieve this by bringing together academic knowledge, operational excellence, process development and embracing the innovation required to develop new insights in medical care. They are science driven, outcome focused, agile & flexible and they work as partners.
