Junior Achievement Worldwide
About

JA Worldwide (Junior Achievement) is the largest not-for-profit organization (NGO) dedicated to addressing the fundamental social and economic challenges of young people by empowering and equipping them to own their economic future. By enhancing the relevancy of education through cuttingedge, hands-on financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work-readiness learning, Junior Achievement inspires and prepares young people to succeed in the 21st century global economy.

JA students activate their potential and use their skills to contribute to the strength of their families, communities, nations, and the economy. Starting with just a handful of students in 1919 in Springfield, Massachusetts, U.S.A, JA’s reach now spans the globe with a wide variety of learning experiences for young people between the ages of 5 and 25. JA operates in 121 countries around the world, serving 10 million young people with the support of nearly 400,000 volunteers and secured more than $253 million in revenue in 2011-2012.

We inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. We teach students how to start businesses that create jobs. Teach entrepreneurial values that strengthen workplaces. Teach skills to generate wealth, and manage it.

We believe in the boundless potential of young people. We share their passion for excellence, respect their talents and creativity, celebrate their honesty and integrity, harness their desire for collaboration, and create opportunities for hands-on learning.
