The “KazTransGas” Company had been established in accordance with the Decree of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 173 dated February 5, 2000. On June 9, 2004, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “About Joint-stock companies” dated May 13, 2003, № 415-II, the closed joint-stock society “KazTransGas” was renamed to Joint-stock company “KazTransGas”. Certi cate of State Reregistration of a Legal entity № 13898-1901-JSC dated June 9, 2004, issued by the Department of Justice, Astana city.
Gas industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan has significant potential for further development that allows Kazakhstan in future being among the leading natural gas producers. KazTransGas JSC is the largest gas supply company in the Republic of Kazakhstan, representing the interests of the state on domestic gas market and worldwide. One shareholder is National Company KazMunaiGas JSC. KazTransGas operates natural gas transport via main gas pipelines, sales natural gas on domestic and foreign markets, develops, finances, constructs and maintains pipelines and gas storages.
On January 9, 2012, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “About gas and gas supply” № 532-IV (further – the Law) came into force.
The Law is aimed to settling differences in the sphere of gas and gas supply, and as a main principle, follows priority of domestic market supply with sales and liquefied petroleum gas, produced on the territory of the RK.
The Law about gas stipulates a definition of national operator, performing activity in the sphere of gas and gas supply to cover domestic needs in sales gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In accordance with the Decree of the Government RoK № 914 dated July 5, 2012, KazTransGas JSC is identified as a national operator in the sphere of gas and gas supply.
In the management of JSC "KazTransGas" is a huge gas transportation system, which includes more than 47 thousand kilometers of gas distribution networks, more than 19 thousand kilometers of main gas pipelines, 56 compressor stations that have installed 348 gas compressor units, 3 underground gas storage. The company supplies commercial gas over 9 million customers in the country. Trouble proof and trouble-free operations of the whole system provides more than 14 thousand people.
Almost 35% of the domestic gas account for the Kashagan field, 23.2% - at Karachaganak, 17% - in the Tengiz field.
Currently, the group of companies "KazTransGas" is represented in 10 regions of Kazakhstan: Almaty, Aktobe, Atyrau, East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Kostanai, Kyzylorda, Mangystau and South Kazakhstan regions.See more
