Keeping Alive Societies' Hope (KASH)
About

Keeping Alive Societies’ Hope (KASH) was started in 2003, in Kenya, to empower key populations (KPs) and to advocate for their health and human rights, so as to promote A Just, Healthy, and Economically Empowered Society.

KASH is the first (1st) organization in the World to bring police officers and members of the KP together to address causes of conflict between the two groups and work out common solutions. Through their advocacy and sensitization sessions, they have made the police, healthcare providers, and the judiciary understand the concerns surrounding sex workers and MSMs.

Since then, KASH has continued to focus on human rights, health interventions, and economic empowerment for key populations. They have also expanded their scope to 22 counties with different projects under their five strategic pillars (i.e.Integrated Health Services; Human Rights; Economic Empowerment; Governance, Policy and Advocacy; and Organizational Development and Systems Strengthening).

They have a Mission to proactively influence society to enable key and marginalized populations to access justice, health, good governance, and economic empowerment through stakeholder engagements.
