About

The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a medical research center in East Africa's. It is located in Kenya's capital, Nairobi.

 

Established in 1979, KEMRI has played an important role in the fight against malaria, HIV/AIDS and other diseases in Kenya, and in sub-Saharan Africa as a whole. Since its inception, KEMRI has developed a critical mass of scientists and technical personnel, to enable it mount a competitive research infrastructure to rank as a leading center of excellence in health research both in Africa as well as globally.
